    here is what i suggest:
create a yahoo group or blog..and have ppl publish the name anonymously of the desi bloodsuckers...some kind of activism is required..instead of coming on this board like some ballless buggers and crying like babies...grow up and take back ur life...bytch..;-)

btw..i am not in IT so..i dont have to deal with suck suckers.. i have read so many posts abt this.. i am fed up..

I guess H1Guy wants to report this to DOL, which is strides ahead of merely creating some yahoo group and "cry like babies" in that yahoo group. He wants to take concrete action, but you are suggesting to continue to discuss anonymously on some forum. I am confused

Why should only GC holders get this 'permission'? F1, J1, L1 and H1 people should also be able to get their parents. Also, add all their dependents, H4, L4(??) whatever. We can all live as a big family then. Or, just pack up and go back to India.

Its ridiculous to hear people saying that they like to live in the US because of human values here, but then talk about Indian values. Please make up your mind. It's not just my family, my siblings, my whatever..... Think outside 'your' little world.

    well said!!

Since the application is no longer based on an employer, then I guess you can change jobs any time. And so you dont need AC21.

Its totally based on the applicant. You have to earn the points to get a greater possibility to get it approved (Do an MS, get higher score in TOFEL, more experience in the US and yes hope your sibling gets his/her GC before you)

Also you dont need to deal with incompetent lawyers and the employers no longer have control over you.

The question that arises is that an application is valid for 3 years then its deemed denied. Does that mean you cant try again because you did not make it in the quota for that time period. And does it mean you have to go back.

Please correct me if I am wrong

May be some one who has already renewed their AP can answer this:

I am about to renew my AP. What will be the start date on the new AP. Is it the date after the current AP expires(like with EAD) or the date the renewal application is approved. Appreciate any responses.

    QT,

May be this is not a prediction thread. But the OP and some others are all about VB in another thread or two. While I personally dont have any issue with it, it just frustates me that people dont understand that VB is not going to do any magic for PD's in 2003 or later. C mon Lets be realistic. After doing all the math in so many threads, Does any one expect that the PD will be some where in the ending of 2003. Hell no. Then why is that we have a Dec Bulletin thread way back? Now some one is gonna come start a Jan prediction thread. Useless. I hate to comment on this but I hope people understand the difference between discussion as you said(which I personally agree) and useless predictions when they can make educated guess and do something else.
I am glad you agree with me that discussion is different from prediction!! As far as the futility of predictions go, I agree with you. the beauty of this thread is in seeing someone (like GCanyMinute) say that their PD is now current. while we commiserate about our condition, it is the ray of hope that keeps all of us sane does it not?

here is to cheering for people who are crossing the finish line :-))

AC21 applies specifically to the time before you get GC. Even if you do use AC21, you should have the intention to stay with the employer you're with or the future employer (who submits an employment letter attesting they have a permanent job offer which is similar in scope in the LCA and I-140 petition) at the time of GC Approval.

The 90-day timeframe is sufficient to establish intent, as posted earlier.

If you already used AC21 then? how would you explain to IO. I think what matters is your explanation and there should be no reason for denial of citizenship if you are able to explain.

    cheers

PCS would be best person in my view, As midWest manufacturing
woes are used to bash off-shoring. His work will be great example
How immigrants with technology/business skills can help remove the
joblessness crises in midwest and also move that region into high tech
    era.

    Great work PCS.

    I totally agree..

If to get EAD and AP going to take more then year then what is advantage of VB becoming current?

When the EAD and AP dates processing dates are backlogged, there isn't much advantage to early filing.

Does this mean we even cannot upgrade to PP after August 1st, when the premium processing will be available...???

What does what mean? You can upgrade to PP whenever USCIS makes it available....August 1st or at a later date.

    Thanks,
    Jayant

Go ahead and make 50/100$ contribution (and try to do same every month). you will feel better of yourself for being part of something good.

    Hello there,

I have been wanting to make an IV contribution for a long time and here is my problem..I probably can be labeled a miseror a magpie! ..Whenever I go to the IV link to contribute and see the $50 or $100 option I panic and get out..yes I do!
I have some desi colleagues and was discussing this issue with them at work..and they had the exact same experience..wow..I am not the only magpie..

But hey is'nt IV the one which is at the receiving end not getting our contributions..

I speak from my own experience and call me a mapie or a miser..or whatever..I cant make myself make a $50 or more contribution .. thats the way I am..But I can sure make a smaller contribution (like a monthly recurring $10 contribution which really is easier to make) and I am quite sure IV will benefit from my small contributions as well as i think a lot more people will not hesitate making contributions in smaller denominations than a whopper $50+

And really this is not related to IV effort but more to do with my own way of thinking about parting with my money..I love my money..:)...

My history - Made $0 contributions so far..and have been wanting to contribute for a long time now..but keep backing away..

Are you kidding us? I do not know what level of education you have achieved so far in your life but it looks like you are not enough educated to differentiate between the definitions of permanent residency, citizenship and perhaps working on work visa as far as legal stay in USA by outsider is concerned.

What would be the "legal" reply from US Supreme court,if you ask US supreme court that whether citizen of other country can call US president a "My president"? . And What would be the "legal" reply from Supreme court of country A,if you ask that whether citizen of country A can call US president a "his/her president"?

USA expects someone to abide by the land of the law while s/he come to US to work legally. And what is expected legally is one is not involved in "Anti USA" activity whatsoever it may be.USA legally never expects citizen of other country "to love" or "show fidelity" towards USA when s/he is still the citizen of other country.

PavanV is right in his argument, in a sense, that when some person is citizen of country A at this moment his/her fidelity naturally must be for his/her country A. This is the legally expected human behaviour in every society and country. It would have been perfectly o.k. and "legal" about rsharma's statement if he would have already been US citizen at the time when he stated what he stated.

Such ridiculous, unnatural, premature, unethical and spineless behaviour can only be shown by the people who are already morally sold.

First of all when somebody comes here in USA on work visa, s/he has come on invitation from USA base legal employer's willingness and is ethically, legally and morally obligated to provide professional class and quality of work for what s/he is hired. Nothing more or less is legally expected by USA and employment system within USA. USA and its whole society is well aware that these persons are citizen of other countries and so they never expects any kind of fidelity from them at least "legally" and at the same time they even do not grant the rights what US citizen nornmally have. Now out of that bunch many people prefer to go for permanent residency as permanent residency bring little bit stability in living and flexibility in employment and international travel. If one becomes a permanent resident of USA then also USA still only expects that person abide by the law of the land and do not involve in "anti USA" activity. It still does not expect "fidelity" towards USA in legal sense. There is no legal or social or political or any kind of pressure from USA or any governmental or non governmental institutes within USA on any particular person coming from other country to become its citizen. One can stay on permanent residency forever till death(At least based on current prevalent law) and legally work and s/he does not have to become a citizen for working legally. And I do not know about other countries but in India it is not considered "illegal" and/or "unpatriotic" to go in other country(Except Pakistan and Bangladesh) for legal work so coming to USA for legal work whether on work visa or becoming a permanent resident in USA while maintaining Indian citizenship simultaneously is not unpatriotic or illegal. Simultaneously USA's legal system allows an Indian to remain as citizen of India while residing in USA permanently for legal work.

Now if somebody decides to become a US citizen, there is nothing wrong in that. I do not see anything wrong when rsharma states that "I have decided to become US citizen in future". But if he is mature and human enough then his fidelity at this moment should be towards India (Assuming he is a citizen of India currently) as he is a citizen of India at this moment. Showing this kind of behaviour perhaps may not be a outright unpatriotic in terms of "Indianness" but it certanily signals probable but strong disloyality towards India.

And I do not think that USA citizens are that naive that they consider the people "not mingled" if citizen of other country do not call USA president a "My president" while holding the citizenship of other country.

If calling US president a "My President" by non citizens would be the barometer of "mixing" / "mingling" then USA would not be today's USA. So please do not kid USA and us .

Dude people like you are what irritates me. You guys want best of both countries without taking resposibility for either one. If your heart truly goes for "bharat maa" than why are you wasting your precious life serving American Corporations? your "bharat maa" is still 3rd world country and rift with many challanges that you could have worked upon to elivate it from. But you preffred to apply for GC and no where is it written that your getting GC would make "bharat maa" proud or rid her off her miseries.

Sorry, but I prefer to call a spade a spade. And I take side with country, that I might not be citizen of yet, but has given me what I could have never achieved in my life back in India. I am thankful to this country and look forward proudly to becoming citizen of USA.

    So, God bless America !

I didn't think my answers were making fun or teasing anyone - sorry if you felt that way, I didn't mean them to be interpreted like that.

The main problem is that no one really knows for sure whether these steps are taken in sequence. There is little to no transparency. There are procedures, but we can not guarantee that they are followed.

To answer your second part. No, I don't believe there are any standard updates that indicate this, but I could be wrong. I think that there is an update if you clear it, but not if you are stuck in it. Make sense? Pappu has an excellent post that details the name check process http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12000

To answer nlssubbu with the query about the "pre-approval" - I don't think it is a 1 time thing. Its a fairly standard USCIS practice. I have a link somewhere to the IO AOS processing manual. If I can find it I'll post it here.

Do I think they have enough resources to process them all? Absolutely not, but I doubt there will be a rush considering PDs won't be current for a while (esp eb3)

    Thank you.

I am shocked too. 2 members who I called on phone were abusive. They started blaming Aman Kapoor saying that he is rubbing his idealogies over already stressed immigrants - this was ridiculous and I am so sad that people have such thoughts.

If people are scared or want to live in Shadows why abuse IV who are truly committed for a cause???? These are the same people writing rubbish on those threads that ran 200 pages when they were waiting for USCIS announcement.

Singsa - u r doing a great job. Lets be persistant with the fact sheet.
