so you don't see a difference in how a private organization and a non-profit organization operates. Well here are some:
1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.
2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.
As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. So for you to come out and say that you are the only one doing all the work and others are just doing nothing and some how you are the CEO of this organization is just beyond my imagination. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.

I doubt this law will cause any trouble. For analogy, there are laws around carrying current insurance papers. Once I didnt have my current insurance, since every six months new ones get mailed and I forgot to keep them in the car. I showed the police officer my previous expired insurance and mentioned that the insurance-id is the same. He accepted it and asked me to carry the current copy in future.
The cop will fine you if you did not have the insurance card; under the present bill, the latino has a chance of being deported and not fined......huge difference!

Still your I 140 info does not show up. Also, my pd is of april 2006. But I -140 not approved yet, pending since june 2006. Ur new update is only giving me a good hope.

Starting July 16th, 2007, labor certification has a 60 day validity period. Meaning, a I-140 petition needs to be filed within 60 days from labor approval date....If immigrant visa numbers are unavailable (dates retrogressed), you wont be able to file your I-140/I-485 concurrently but you can file your I-140 petition irrespective of your priority date as long as you have a labor approved. You dont have to apply for your labor again and again....Its just that, once you get your I-140 approved, you will have to wait for dates to become current to file I-485...
Looks like this needs correction.Labors expire after 180 days from approval date after July 16th.

My honest, ubiased opinion regarding PPF would that you should not remove your money from PPF. Its is very stable, it pays the highest interest and you dont have to manage it. Forget about it for 20 odd years and you will have a substantial amount accumulated in your account. You will withdraw it and blow it away, thats what most of the people end up doing.
That being said, if you still want to withdraw from your account or close your account, its really very simple. There is a one page form you need to fill out, and you will get the money fairly quickly. You DONT have to pay money to get it. I did not pay and neither did anyone i know.
This is something in india that works well for millions of working class people and its much better than the SS mess that is here.

You may be able lodge a complaint at your district attorneys office. you have to find your local DA's details. If you are from one of the coasts the chances of your DA's office having a section for immigration related complaints is high.
I agree. You should contact the office of the district attorney and ask for help prosecuting your employer for financial fraud. Also change your job immediately to avoid any further trouble.

A freind of mine came across a gentleman, who is here on work visa and he is facing a unique problem. He is married to two persons and wants to bring his whole family here in the USA. He was looking for answer if he can get both his spouses and kids here on H4 visas. Currently both of them and his kids are in India. Interesting hmmm :D

What I don't get is where they got that the Sept 18 rally will see 5000 of us attending? That's way too little guys, we need at least double that!
Will we even have 5000 people??? I will be (pleasantly) surprised if we do!
Too bad most of us think this rally is a waste of time. I hope they wake up and realize that doing nothing and waiting for their GCs will be an even bigger waste of time if they lose their job 3 years down the line!

They need to make EB GC process a linear one, meaning that you file for labor, then I-140, and I-485 as soon as your first two stages are cleared. Concurrent filing process is a hit or miss. It doesn't make sense anymore when you've so much retrogression.
This linear approach will be good for USCIS for two reasons:
1. They will get constant flow of applications rather than all at once. Plus they can control it by regulating the flow of I-140 approvals.
2. They will be able to better predict the visa movement based on their inventory.
For people like me, it will be good for two reasons:
1. I'll enjoy similar EAD/AP benefits that most of the people enjoy who filed during July 07.
2. No more H1B stamping.

I filed I-140/1-485 concurrently July 4th. Got my EAD and AP. I-140/1-485 still pending. Is it true that you get FP notice only when your I-140 is approved?
