There are rumors that we will be around 5000 at the rally. Let's prove them wrong and bring at least 10,000 of our members. I am willing to share more funds for people who so far are not planning to attend, and to advertise and promote the rally as much as possible. Guys, we still have nearly 3 weeks, we can get to 10,000 and beyond! Let's work hard now to accomplish that! Please post your ideas here to make it more than 10,000. Just like telethons have a target donationn amount to be raised, we should have a minimum attendance target for the rally to achieve! Does this mean that you cannot have 6-9 years extension of H1B for the new employer and you must use the EAD after six years if you are changing jobs?
No, you can use H1. But if you go to new employer, of course you have to do an H1 transfer to new employer.
AC21 portability can be used with either forms of work authorization : H1 or EAD. The important thing is to do it after 180 days of 485 filing and to do it after 140 approval.
You can start working for new employer on EAD, or you can use AC21 (without using EAD) by applying for H1 transfer to new employer and working for new employer as soon as you get receipt notice of H1 transfer.
H1 status offers a backup plan in the sense that if your 485 is rejected for wrong reasons, you can appeal the case in office of administrative appeals and fight it out and stay here on h1 while you fight it out. If we will get EADs, let's see who are gonna be our friends and enemies:
Lawyers. They are never our friends. If you are on H1b, then you better do every extension through the lawyer. If your H1b extension will be denied, you are in trouble. If you are on AOS/EAD cycle - you don't need a lawyer. It's a simple application. If for some reason your EAD denied (because you screwed something up in application), you will just reapply - it will not affect your status. If you will have a gap - just take leave without pay, to be formally compliant. So.. lawyers will lose, if we will all jump on EAD.
Employers. Believe me, so many consulting companies will be out of business for good, because a lot of folks will just join other companies for better salaries. It will be no more slavery, no more intimidation. For a lot of employers "f$%4 off" will be the usual thing they hear. So they won't like it.
Average American. We will be able to compete with them directly and kick them out of many positions. It's a capitalist country, and competition is a key to prosperity. It is much harder to find a job on H1B than with EAD. Yes, average American employee is undereducated and overpriced, and with a lot of demand and drama. Successful companies will love to hire us.
US government. They will like to get us on EAD, because we will start having higher salaries and will be paying higher taxes. We will start paying yearly EAD/AP fees. So, in this case DOS is on our side.
I think DOS perfectly understood that, that's why they made dates current to force USCIS give us EAD. It was no mistake. But all kinda anti-immigrant forces desperately made this impossible by more likely braking the law.

As a PMP who works in a large corporation let me give you another side of the story.
1. PMP certification can get you a PM job and boost your earnings but if you hate having to deal with lots of people PM job is not for you.
2. PMP is for large projects in large corporations. If you like working in fast paced tech companies stay away from PMP. Basically PMP is meant to manage all the fluff that exists in large corporations.
3. Also, be ready for insults from technical staff. They treat PM's like idiots and quite frankly a lot of PM's are merely schedule jockeys. Very few PM's are true to their profession.
4. Bottomline: $500 is worth the investment. Do not shy away from it if you like PM kind of work.

I beg to differ with your opinion about using the walmart bags are trash bags.
One of the reason that I can think of is...
There are apartments where kitchens are so small where you are forced to buy small trash cans and stuff them under the sinck.The best way to fit these can's is with Shopping Bags, not with 5 or 10 gallon's garbbage bag.

Finally after repeated expedite requests, SR, etc, I just received a call from my local congressman that NSC mentioned to them that AP renewal has been approved. I just saw a LUD update yesterday and today in my and my spouse's AP online case status. Its still sitting in initial review only. Hopefully it will show me approved in a day or two. Local congressman told that they will keep my case open until I call back and let them know its approved. Hoping to see an approval soon, will keep you all updated.

(Wouldn't want this to become a "reason" later.....for any issues, like someone to claim that you were a "no-show"...)
