That may be but do you actually think this practice is fair and should be legal. To me and hundreds of thousands of other folks who are patiently waiting in line, it is fraud because you are cutting in line. The sad part is we see that you are cutting in line but we can't do s**t about it just because it's legal.
Why do we all start complaining when illegals get preferential treatment than us? We all start saying that we came here legally, we pay taxes, we waited in line, we did everything by the book.. bla bla bla. Well .. they are also getting their gc legally so then why do we complain?

Hi I just talked to customer service representative, she said that It is either due to a security check or Department of Homeland security trying out different exercises before approving the case. So Please wait for some more time and give a check. when the applications went to security check, the similar kind of response you will get. If your case falls under a specific section we will put the section in that.

I was wondering if someone will mention F-22.
First of all, F-22 is not for sale. Period. There is no such thing as a close ally as far as F-22 is concerned. Even the Israelis got a curt NO when they wanted to buy it.
Second, IAF does not want the F-22. It is US$ 150 Million a piece which makes it almost twice as expensive as any of the planes being considered. Also, if you look at the IAF's area of operation: F-22 is an overkill. None of the neighboring countries and this includes China has capabilities that will necessitate something like F-22 to deal with.

Dear friends:
As the Past President of a PMI Chapter (PMP for the past 10 years and working in the field of Project management for the past 15 years) let me shed some light to this query.
Reasons why you should do PMP
1) If you believe you need a promotion, new job or rise the corporate ladder within the field of IT or management, take PMP.....Billing rate of PM's is $90-150/hr for consulting, full time could be from $100K-$250K. The next generation CIO's will be highly qualified PM's.
2) Job security for PMP's. The only job that will not be outsourced to India or China is that of a project manager.
3) PMP will help you get the project manager job, if you do not have one. However, become a Project Manager only if you like working with people. Trust me, if you hate politics and hate managing people, it is better for you to stay a techie. Your life will be miserable if you do not like managing people. Do something that you enjoy, rather than what you may hate. It is all about people and people management, rather than project management in the world of PMP's
4) PMP has become mandatory for all large gigs or projects. Small projects do not need PMP's and small projects do not pay well too.
5) PMP does not make you a better project manager. But PMP is needed by the industry. It is the experience that one gets from being on the field from different industries that makes one a good project manager.
I hope this should help some of you to make a decision to be a PMP or not.

I work for IBM and IBM just recently outsourced almost all the PM's and SDM's job to India only ( Not to China because of English speaking ability ).
IBM got tonnes of skilled MBA's with english speaking. As of now hardly I see any PM's from US during calls. But I admire you for all the other points. well said.

It is not true that Many people have to wait 10+ years to get gc. May be some people might wait for 10 years because of frequent change of jobs , layoffs and also ignorance of green card processing. Most of the time EB2 waiting time is 2 to 3 years. Indian EB3 is in worst situation but only for past 2 years and before that everything was current. For that also most waiting persons filed I 485 because of July VB issue. In my opinion EB3 PD will be backdated up to 5 years.
Also there is no legistrative activity in Congress about any immigration issue. Always skil bill comes in limelight when congress is in Session. But everyone knows that skil bill is asking too much in H1b and immigration numbers because of exemptions and it will be very difficult task. But no one in pro immigrant community is ready to compromise on numbers. When Congress tries to curb the abuse of H1b even pro immigrants are opposing the bills without any suggestion of any alternatives. If some bill comes for only GC that too moderate increase in numbers that will have bright chance of passing in congress.
You should not expect any rally will produce meaningful reform. It has to be proved that additional immigrant and H1b numbers will produce more jobs and it should not create unemployment in americans.Just sufferings of gc waiters is not enough. My opinion is Rally will be used to show strength of IV and may educate public and Congress. But anti immigrants also doing Similar Campaign(not big rallies) by negative points of immigration. The same congress till the end of 2008 and I doubt they will consider any immigration issue till new congress comes in 2009 that is not too far from now. But it is always good to try all the time.
Before any reform comes most IV members may get GC.
This has been talked over and over. If you feel that the wait times are not INDEFINITE, great. Please go ahead, lean back and relax. If you know everything about whats going to happen, why even bother about Immigration issues or IV? Its not about showing off muscle. Wake up! Its about different people from different categories and countries stuck in a totally capricious system. Its about the system, arcane and antique law. Its not about any one particular person's PD, his/her category/country. There are people who are in EB2 with PD's 2002 and have not got their GC yet. Dream on and Smoke what ever you want.

Nicely said! You just reminded us, what all of us often forget, that we are Indians by birth and are here for various personal/professional reasons.
I always wondered how NRIs end up comparing both countries.USA and India are in different stages of evolution. Remember India attained independence only in 1947 unlike USA which had independence since 200plus years.
Being such a young country and depleted of most of it's rich natural resources by constant invaders for centuries together, it is just gathering it's strength back.
Progress in India is palpable at every level of society compared to a decade or two back. But burdened with heavy population, it's trying to turn it's weakness into a strength! The very fact that we hear India's name all the time in various news channels and especially CNBC makes me think that world is noticing!
So many of us are so confident to live anywhere in the world with the education we recieved in India.
It's OK to praise other countries for what they achieved but please don't belittle India. I don't see anyother countrymen being cynical about their country of birth like we Indians!!

Dear friends, why do you seek to start bashing your country at the first opportunity you get. THere are people in the Indian Govt who are negotiating on your behalf to make sur you get your money back.
THen on the question of paying bribes to get money out of PPF - something is better than nothing. Why complain. If it is so bad, go back and fight to fix the system, otherwise stop maoning. India is the only country that will welcome you if you are kicked out of here. I remember i used to pay 50 INR per ticket for a railway seat, now i go online and book a ticket. Things change they take time and patience.
Only those people who have NEVER bribed anyone to get stuff done illegally, or out of turn should speak. And i know there is no one, since you are in US and came on a passport and we all know how passports are obtained.
You left india, want to stay away, so leave it alone. When you are kicked out of everywhere, the doors will still be open, just keep some cash for the gatekeeper.
Lets discuss whether this swap will be possible or not, or what the loopholes are.

Also DOL performance also factors lot. If DOL starts approving labor at faster rate EB ROW categories can consume much more visas and left over will be less for EB2 India and China that can hurt analysis.
Good thing is that IV members spent time to understand 3 departments data and create a model so future analysis on updated data should be quick and may be core can post updated version of this doc frequently.

It is a feel good factor; you still want to be cynical, go right ahead, no one can take that away from you.
Yeah I get that the money will be transferred from the Social security system here to the Indian Govt system.
My point is it does not do a damn thing for us workers personally. That money will dissapear into a dark hole in the Indian Gov't coffers instead of a dark hole here, further as the rules stand, I have a slim chance of getting the money from here through social security payments when I turn 65 even if I am in India. Try that within the money in Indian gov't hands.
On the other hand, it makes the Indian gov't allign with corporate america, as they all have a vested interest in a Temp. worker program such as H1b absent green cards. Which will be a win win for all concerned except us.
So I repeat my question..................Why is this good again?

Exactly. God foribid we lose our jobs. Before and after this announcement we are one bad earnings quarter away from being shipped back home. Its hard to enjoy life with stress like this.

Filed at NSC on July 2nd 2007. Got EAD/AP approval notices and receipts/transfer notices from CSC last week. No FP notice yet.
There are several in my company in the same situation..NSC->CSC and now CSC Xfr'd back to NSC. No one has rcvd FP notice. I think August 17th filers at NSC are ahead of us now and we are at the tail of the queue one more time.
The only advantage of CSC transfer is if you need EAD/AP desperately. if you don't then it's just bad luck.
