My experience with Picture People was ok - fair, I guess those are fine pictures as per USCIS specifications, but nothing out of the ordinary. 14.99 for a set of 4 pictures. Set me back about $80 for 3 sets of 8 pictures.
But my own pictures came out better and are as per specifications. The question is whether to take a chance in case i missed anything or to go with Ok-Fair pictures from Picture People. decisions.. decisions... damn.. retrogression
and of course most portrait studios would guarantee acceptance else will give you a refund or take pictures again for free in case of an RFE.

How to get that...My receipt number starts with SRC
A receipt number starting with SRC usually means that the receipt was issued by the Texas Service Center. However, at this moment, the case could be pending at any other center it USCIS transferred it.
Use your receipt number to lookup the case status on the USCIS website. The status will tell you where your case is pending.

Does this mean that you cannot have 6-9 years extension of H1B for the new employer and you must use the EAD after six years if you are changing jobs?
There are more risks in using AC21 before 140 approval.
Read the Aytes memo of Dec 2005 regarding portability before 140 approval. There is all kinds of things that can go wrong if you port off to a new employer before 140 approval.
Other than employer withdrawing 140, the other issues are that if there is an RFE on your 140 and you have already used portability and ported off to new employer using EAD, then what would you do if that 140 doesnt get approved. Because if your H1 6 years have been used up, you are on EAD status, and your underlying 140 tied to 485 doesnt get approved, then it means you are out of status and you are out of luck. You cant even stay here to appeal the whole thing, you have to pack up and go back.

Right now for all bills that Zoe proposed there are max 19 co sponser for this last bill. DID you check for STRIVE ACT 2007 which had 78 co-sponsers still could not make it to floor.
We need to call these lawmakers and educated them on these bills.

Just curious, why would any one file again just because they did not get the receipt for the first one (unless there is a legitimate concern like no Fedex/currier tracking for the first one , change of conditions like have second/better LC etc)?

using a flash is ok, just be careful if you wear glasses (you might need some retakes before you get it right). and turn on red eye removal. 3.2 mp for the size (2x2) of picture is good enough.. Even 1 mp is good enough if you are zooming in to take pictures. but if you are cropping a 1 mp picture to take out surroundings, its better to use 2mp plus camera.
When using a flash you get harsher shadows, to counter that have light source both from left right and top and do the picture in daytime with atleast some natural light. Remember stand atleast 2 feet away from the white background.
Flash results specially in home environment without proper lighting won't be good at nighttime unless you use multiple synchronised flash guns.
I guess the other persons remark regarding flash may be related to lighting / over exposures/ shadows. (make sure you wipe your face if you have oily skin - no kidding )
In the end if you really want to make your pictures look good and per specifications go to a portrait studio.

Funny you say that. I'm all for a honest debate and in fact mentioned cited this forum's intolerance for disagreement. We fail to realize that the EB quota is not a Indian only domain, that there are other non-Indian EB immigrants with their own viewpoints, and that unfortunately this narrow sightedness will stifle any unified efforts to fight this problem.
And I'm not beating isantem up. I was on the other hand trying to explain to him why the policy of country based quotas are naive for attracting top talent. Please read my post below.

Why are we rambling on and on about this? There is absolutely no connection between India buying fighter jets and immigration. That was what the OP wanted to know. If the immigration processes will get affected because India excluded Boeing and Lockheed. There seems to be no connection between the two issues. Period.
