:(:(I need some help. I am a non substanially comparable position candidate and I have been aduited. The CO mentioned that my job seems similar and want me to provide more information on my job duties so my manager and I worked together to ensure that my jobs were different to meet the requirements and I resubmitted my case. Does anyone know what the DOLs view on substainally comparable position candidates? Am I likely to get denied? I am in the a position that is not the typical IT role but working with HR and wanted to know what the DOL's response might be and if i am likely to get denied. Also, I am a fragormen client who is recently being audited so I'm nervous. Can you anyone help me??!?!?!

This is how it works....
2011 - EB2 gets current
2012 - EB2 retrogrades because all indians start applying in EB2.
2019 - EB2 current
2020 - EB2 retrogrades again
In the mean time .......
2025 - 50 k EB3 Indians are appying for EAD and AP for the 20th time and hoping that they do not get harrased at the POE while coming back

I called them this morning (I had other commitments earlier).
It was good to hear that they are now very aware of these bills.
Nearly all used the ploy "Where are you from?", to screen out those who are not from their district, but politely noted the call in their logs.
It was also good to be able to say that I had already spoken with my Congressman on the subject (because that's where they expect you to go first).
I've spoken with a lot of law maker's aids, and this ("where are you from?") is a ploy that is typically used when they have a high volume of calls. I would take that as a good sign.

Just few months ago, I had enough to spare 20% down payment for the type of townhome I liked, I made commitment for buying it. I have been carefully reading various home related articles in news papers as well as in IV postings. All the arguments against buying did not affect decision-making in terms of delaying or stopping.
Some of the ancinet Indian thoughts link changes in luck (for good or bad) with differenct events of life - education, marriage, childbirth, new friends, change of place, change of job, change of home, etc. While selecting home I tried to follow as much as possible to Indian Vastu Shastra and Chinese Feng Shui.
This is my third home purchase - two was in India - so I am not excited like earlier purchases. In fact while selling previous one (because I needed money), I was not comfortable because I got very much attached.
Simply:
I did not buy earlier, because I was not having enough money. When prices lowered and I could afford, I made purchase. I had social pressure for the last five-six years to purchase home but I did not yield to that (20% was my bottom line). Now there is media pressure against buying but I did not yield to that.
It was just, when I became comfortable. I'll be moving next month.

If you have account in BOA with 25K, you can do 30 trading per month for free. Also I have some good tips for long terms investors like people who are planning to settle here. The plan is to buy the stocks from companies directly and reinvest the dividend. When you are not paying the commission and investing the dividend, you can get very good return in the long run.

I wonder if such a reaction is warranted considering that there's official news from USCIS at this stage. I would not support the litigation.
If it does become official I guess we have to rush to file the suit, who knows may be they will have priority dates for the law suits too.

LMAO. I am sorry but I disagree that Day trading is an investment. Day trading is risky business and one needs plush amounts of cash as SIPC/SEC will not release the money on the same day. Don't even get me started on the margin accounts.
It is risky FOR SURE . It is a s risky as much as Crossing road is risky for the blind
People who can see can cross with ease provided they are not careless and have good judgement
I agree with (2) and would also like to point out that the risks are also substantial. One can get addicted to day trading and I dont need to tell what addiction can do to any one.
Nix people are addicted to VB too wht did they achieve.....Here atleast I am doing something progressive.
It needs time during work hours. ie 9 30 am and 4 30 pm. A lot of people did day trading during the dot com boom and recently with FRE & FNM. We know the results.
Well I am guessing your knowledge of day trading is limited to what Wikipedia has to offer. I work 9.00 5.00 Software engineer (no pun intented) And I make a decent 50-100 on the side .
While you might have taken refuge in day trading for the stress immigration has caused, it can be a serious double whammy/nightmare if the calculations go wrong.
Well Day traders that I have seen sucessful have NEVER EVER suggested to go all in. Play small play consistent
All said, if you feel that there is enough money to be made and normal Joe Bloggs can cope up with the pressure, please share your thoughts in detail.
I wanted to address this post first cause I want the notion that this is for my benefit to be outted. I have been here long and supported IV in all ways possible.

However in order to work on an issue, the push and support must come from members needing it. For that we will need support of Greencard holders who think that this an issue for them and they are willing to participate and support IV to go all the way. Right now we have our hands full with current IV agenda and need to accomplish those with our limited resources

That is nearly $9000 in fundraising efforts that we can target! $9000 may not be much, but it can be put to good use for lobbying of new bills, especially the three new bills introduced recently for highly skilled legal immigrants pending GCs.
