I got my AP approved in approx 50 days. It was filed on 10/14/10 at NSC, mailed supporting documents within 7 days of filing it online and got approval yesterday(12/6/10) without any RFE.

friends ..are we giving up before even trying ??? this is the least that we can do ..just write that you are a skilled legal immigrant with american kids. you have followed all the rules for 6-8 years ..waiting for a GC so that you can buy a house (or if you have a house then there is a danger that it will go in foreclosure because of GC delays) ..few minutes is all that is needed

Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.
How do they come up with these dates? Weren't they supposed to process I-485 applications in the order they received them?
And how come the California Service Center has been doing so well this past few months, while all the other centers have been stationary or going back. CSC is at January 2007 now, fer cryin' out loud!

They asked the biggest takers of H-1B visas. They just so happened to be Indian companies, funny enough.
I don't see why you would think of the bill as insane. It weeds out the abuse clogging up an otherwise great visa program.

That is why I have said "most" and not all. You are right I do not have any proof or data (but I am sure IV does) , try scanning any of the threads and you will see what I stated is very obvious.
If this post instigated you then you are not as thick skinned as some of your EB2 peers and hopefully will join the bandwagon of Donors soon.
My bitterness is the same for EB3's who do not do much other than posting on threads but I think (no proof again) there are more EB3 donors in the Donor threads than EB2's.
Agreed that I haven't contributed (yet) but that's a mighty big acquisition from your end on calling all of us EB2's free riders without any considerable data to prove it.
I think it's within our best interests to remain united until things are straightened up but I sure can understand your bitterness and hope the best for you too.

guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

Reading the bulletin thread and prediction thread is good enough to prepare for GMAT problem solving area. I love these analysis and conclusions.

I think I have joined IV in last 3 years or so...
Donated money once & have called congressmen & senators many times ...
Could someone please tell me -
What has been achieved by IV till date? I know we all meet elected reps, officials in washington dc ..... but I am interested in end result like not wasting visa numbers , implementing spillover & along these lines.
I have asked few friends to join IV but then if they ask me for IV accomplishments - i can't count any....
If IV has accomplished its objectives, then there is no need for any of us to join. But anyway, the following might be listed...hope this helps.

I have nothing to say about the dems in particular...........however, you are being extremely short sighted if you want Obama to loose. He is driving this country in the right direction, and you go with any republican who just talks nonsense of tax cut and national security, you may have a green card or even citizenship - and your children will be wishing to go to another country as there are no opportunities here!

i disagree with you, i love obama the candidate, but since then he did little to merit his election, so howz health care gonna help ppl who have no job in the first place, stimulus was a colossal failure by any standard, he referred republicans as "enemies", howz that for a "change" in dc? we all know this country needs innovation but therz no significant increase in R&D under his presidency, i love some of his decisions but saying he is taking country in the right direction and there is no republican who can do that is not true,
he is too left, we need a leader who does not lean left or right

you can go look at the o-net database online. you can specify keywords of your new job and it will present you different o-net codes. then look at the detailed description of each presented result and draw conclusions as to which one your job will fall under.

I am very surprised about the requests for cheap photos !!! What a pity.
We were ready to spend thousands of dollars just a month ago just to have the ability to apply for I485, but when you get a chance , try to save a few dollars and risk an RFE , delay in processing or even denial.
Walmart photos suck , so are CVS photos. I had them take my pictures in the past. Never used the walmart ones and CVS photos got rejected for visa revalidation. They used Polaroid camera at walmat and they were not good at all.
I took them at Macy's studio , costed me about $30 for 6 copies but they are great. Please choose a professional studio, $20 extra dollars are worth every penny.
Some one mentioned about saving $20 and have a dinner. I would rather have peace of mind knowing my pictures are good enough for USCIS than have a $20 dinner.
Just my 2 cents though. May be I am extra cautious because I got burned once :)
The issue for me is I have pictures from Picture People (a studio-upwards of $80) and a set of my Own. My own look better and are as per specs, but even then its just the thought of who do I blame when the pics get rejected. :-) so i am cool with the decision that the studio photos even though not perfect will be submitted as I can frickin blame someone in case of RFE.
