I didn't webfax but sent my state's US Senators a message through their official portal (I had recieved a response last time I did that). I also followed up with a phone call to their offices.

EB2 India will move very fast till 01 JAN 06 as because based on June 2007 bulletin, just before the july fiasco,( http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3236.html ) the PD for China is 01 JAN 06. That means in EB2 Category except India and China every other country is current. So till India reaches 01 JAN 06 PD in EB2, all the spill overs will be moved to EB2 India. By the time India EB2 reaches 01 JAN 06, China PD in EB2 will move further from 01 JAN 06 by using its 7% quota. So Inidia PD for EB2 again moves fast till that changed China PD using the spill overs. After that India and China will share the spill overs based on the PD priority. All this happens if and only if the USCIS works effectively and uses all the available visa numbers for the present fiscal year. My prediction for EB2 India PD is it touch 2005 /even cross few months in 2005 by the end of this year if USCIS works effectively.

May Visa Bulletin is out. EB3 ROW and Philippines seem to have moved by 1 year.
Even bigger news is that "Other Workers" have become Unavailable for the whole world.
It furthers strengthens the theory that good number of 245i's are EW category and not in the regular EB3 category.
This hypothesis is further supported by the fact that all EB3 dates have been sustained above May 1st for a few months now.

I have a question....Green card is for future employment.In that case,once your I-485 got approved ,you need to go and work for your original employer who sponsered your green card. Is that right? Is that the same case if someone uses AC21?

Ap was submitted 2 days ago.
PD is May 06. Spouse's app was filed same time , no update yet. No FP notices.

Have they mentioned it on their website? Usually DMVs like CT etc.. mention on website that they need a Employment verification letter, as a matter of fact, they don't even accept paystubs they just want employment verification letter.
Folks - my advice is : Please do not argue with the department. Ask them to post their new requirement on their website so that you don't go there and get disappointed.

Hi, our first set of APs are expired and we never renewed since we did not plan to go out of the US. Now we need to apply for new AP, is it possible to apply online or since w eMUSt apply by mail since we don't have a valid AP at present.
Anybody in similar situation? Can somebody PM the cover letter to me?

We let our APs expire in April 2009. We applied for new AP (e-filed) in Oct. 2009 and got AP valid for 1 year (from Oct. 2009 to Oct. 2010 - the AP was approved in 22 days). When I applied for new AP online, I don't remember if it asked for previous AP details or not. I don't think it did - even if it did I would have given the valid dates of the expired AP.

1. Getting an internet connection . I kid you not: DSL became available thru Etisalat and I needed a copy of my visa page before I could get an internet connection,
2.Driver's License. This one takes the cake: I needed a letter from my employer stating that HE IS OK WITH ME APPLYING FOR A DRIVING LICENSE. Not an EVL but an EAL (Employer Authorizing Letter)

I have a question for you. You said in your post below that your 485 was approved end of september 2008. But I thought the visa numbers were already exhausted by august 21 2008 for eb2 india. Are u sure you got approved in end of September 2008 and not in august, did you actually get an email end of september or your LUD on 485 was actually end of september. Its a small good news. I got similar status update last year sometime in Aug/Sept before my I-485 was finally approved around end of Sept '08. Re-capture, STEM un-capping, "one visa number per family" or other such legislative action/executive order is the ONLY way any retrogressed EB category will see relief.
Recapture too is a one time solution that will just get rid of the CURRENT backlog. In future, EB application numbers need to be tied to number H, J, L,O and other visa types

Whatever IV is doing fine, nobody here denies that. But here are few points which I think eveybody else is trying to convey, which somehow you don't understand:
1. This site has an open forum where not only active members of IV, but other people (cowerds, that is what you think, you out-spoken fellow) also seek advice, share their experiences and hence help each other. And mind you, because of these all people, IV and this site also get so much popular.
2. The other point is WHY YOU PUSH SO MUCH FOR HELP. I think everybody understands the efforts of IV, but let the person decide himself/herself whether he/she wants to give money, go to DC ralley or not. Help is not demanded.
3. Please mind your language. I don't know why you have so much of anger and you use abusive, disturbing language for others. Its very easy to say a F* word, but very difficult to sort out others problems in decent and graceful manner. I don't think any group like IV (CARE, CRY and hundreds of NGOs in India) will push people like you do.
4. And people like you are shame for a group like IV (please ask pappu too to confirm) who spread negativity like you did in this thread.
