So this confirms FIRMLY that antis and BusinessWeek are working in tandem against legal immigration reform. Sometime back.. I read that BusinessWeek is for sale.. by McGraw Hill (its parent company). I wish.. that sale happens soon and let common sense prevail. Probably they are trying too hard to shore up their subscriber base by evoking the last resort.. creating sensation with meaningless issues.
If the sale takes place, it probably will be bought by either a Chinese or Indian company. Instead you can have your negotiations with your Doctor and Hospital.
In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.
Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.

I was also in the same boat in 2005 from New Delhi Embassy..
I had 2 earlier H1B visa stamp from Delhi and this was the third time and this time I got 221 (g) for additional processing...My one month vacation tunrs to three months and I can not tell that was a vacation...it was HELL...I called US embassy so many times...but no one picked up....so many emails..no response...finally after three months got a call that they got my clearnce..nexy day went to embassy and got stamped without a question. I did not get paid for that time period but I had to pay my rents and utility bills from India...
Now my visa has expired and I missed the July boat...so I do not have AP..And I have to go to India for brothers marriage...I am pretty sure this time also I will have to go through this and I heard the name check wait time is 6 months now...I will definitely loose job...so I am in a situation of loosing my job or missing my brothers marriage...And my family memebers do not understand a thing about VISA problems :((. I have emailed New delhi embassy about my situation and asked them do my backgroud check in advance so that I can just go there and do the stamping..but they never replied....It's really frustrating to go through this when you never broke a single law in India and US..(I do not even download anything from web..man...)...

What kind of BS is that? And why for heaven's sake are you worried about me AFTER I have already left the country on my own accord. Subject me to SC while I am there and deport me if something fishy is found. Don't make me go through this WHEN I MYSELF left the country... Oh! Logic - these F@#$heads don't have that.
I don't even have a freaking traffic violation on my name and here I am. Go figure! thankfully, I have family in New Delhi (I went to the embassy here) and a fast Internet connection to continue working - but for how long?

A lot many can empathize with you. But if you are looking for relief - you ought to take responsibility for how you feel. You already understand the forces of nature - you will get your GC when it's your time. If anything your needless frustration and forceful attempts are only interfering with the energies that have made your PD current.
Just relax - get some exercise, eat well and participate in things that lift your soul.

I didn't care much for Visa bulletin until it became current for EB2 two weeks back. As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.

LS is not illegal until the employers sell the labor. LS is legal channel where in employer fill the position with somebody else, if primary applicant it not available for some reason.
But some employers are exploiting the law and selling it. This is ILLEGAL. I agree with that LS is LEGAL until it goes in a legal way. But selling or getting other benefits/gifts from the employee is completely ILLEGAL.
Since USCIS cannot find who is selling and who is not selling, they banned it. It is a good move from USCIS, but it is too late. Too many got like this and enjoying the benefits leaving other poor souls who are waiting in line from years.

I got mine from Walmart, after i heard from couple of my friends. they give 6 photos for 8 bucks or something, where-as if you go to places like Walgreens or CVS.. they only give 2 photos for 8 bucks.

I believe Mbhai did a dis-service by negating good advice. What is the guarantee that the 2nd women that this guy marries will not ask for divorce? The best thing he can do is find a way to reconcile, unless there is marital infidility.

Eb2 will move gradually but it may move up to 2006 or 2007 as Eb1 spill over and Eb1 and Eb2 spillover from other countries will be transferred to Indian and Chinese Eb2. Again it depends on how many people are waiting in Eb2

There are things that can be measured in single dimension say on x-axis. Say you have to buy a car and you have to ask yourself a question � which car do I like to buy? Say you like Honda as compared to other cars. Your likeability of Honda or such cars could be measured on the positive side of the x-axis and likewise, if you don�t like some car, that can be measured on the negative side on the x-axis. Now, there could be another dimension to the situation, say, what is the car model in question, if it is a civic or maybe accord, accord, CRV, Odyssey, Element or whatever. Now if you ask yourself that question again � which car do I like? This time you need two dimensions to answer the question which Honda model you like and which you don�t like. Foe the sake of clarity you can do this on the X&Y-axis. But say if there is a choice of multiple colors. You would have to now think/plot a 3-dimention model, say a cube, because you may like a model of Honda in one color but you may not like the same color in another model. Now there could be other combinations, say which year make or whether it is a sedan/coupe or the cost factor or resale value, mileage, new/old, dealership, goodies, experience of your friends/well-wishers etc. etc. etc. So there could be multiple dimensions analysis to answer a 7 word question - which car do I like to buy?

But you chose to look at the reputation system maybe because you continue to be mindful of your reputation on the anonymous forum, but then you continue to complain about the existense of the red dot system. It�s the choice you make. And then you apply single dimension analysis � if you don�t like a comment, there is something wrong with the guy who posted a negative comment and the reputation system and the IV and everyone around us. And because you are not happy, you think it is ok to curse everyone saying that the entire immigration system cannot be fixed because IV has reputation system. You know, I have to tell you, you are pretty good.
The reason I say all this is, I have fundamental difference with the folks who do not like reputation system but continue to look at it and complain about it, even when they have the choice not to look at the reputation system. Good points Sanju we should weigh the +s and the -s of the rep system, however you are missing the core of the complaints. Which is that people giving reds are usually (though not always) doing it as a personal attack (you suck, F*'s etc.), whereas every green that one receives is usually on subject matter (I have not seen a "you stud"!! kind of +ve reps ;) ).
Also, what it wrong for people to complain about the system? If people have the right to give reds, why shouldn't the forum be allowed to complain about it? And if the popular opinion is against it, then the system can be dismantled.
At both ends (the extreme left and the right) it is always "my way or the highway". Neither one recognizes that there are people with different view points, and that everyone should be given an opportunity to air their own views (live a life of their choosing etc.).

I got my infopass with in 3 days. You don't need an attorneys presence in info pass.
If you go there with 2 forms of id , plus the 485 notices that is fine.
Things to ask
1. back ground check is cleared or not
2. pre adjudicated
3. Is there any other thing holding up your case.
Probably we have to give a complaint against the agent id, what ever the cases went up him he is giving the same message.

I beg to differ with your opinion about using the walmart bags are trash bags.
One of the reason that I can think of is...
There are apartments where kitchens are so small where you are forced to buy small trash cans and stuff them under the sinck.The best way to fit these can's is with Shopping Bags, not with 5 or 10 gallon's garbbage bag.

Hi Shamu,
A colleague/friend of mine and his wife decided to have a home delivery. So, they contacted this nurse practitioner/midwife, who used to come to his home once a month and do all the stuff that goes along with pregnancy. They also delivered the baby at his home, which took off all the expense that are associated with a hospital delivery and I'm pretty sure the entire cost for the 9 month term was <5K (actually around 2-3K).
But I believe that was possible because it was a normal delivery with no complications.
So, if you and your wife are in the same situation as most of the people here (i.e. late 20's or early to mid 30's ) there is no reason why you would not have a normal uncomplicated delivery. So having a home delivery is an option.
I am a father of a 15 month old and felt that most of the months that we went to visit the doctor was pretty superficial. They did not tell us anything which you cannot find out from the internet or the maternity books. Who delivered my daughter in the hospital? Well a nurse did.
Also in India my wife told me that most often women don't go to the doctor unless there are issues. (For the period leading up to the delivery. For delivery they go to the doctor.)
So, for uncomplicated deliveries a home delivery could be an option, just check it out and the nurse practitioners (OBGYN variety)/midwives are fully qualified and sometimes more experienced than the doctors as that is ALL they do, they deliver babies.
So check this option if you feel it is OK.

P.S.: Also you seem a little stressed out.

Even, I am a father of 15 month old. This is second one. with my previous employer insurance was good, so no problem with first delivery. Then changed employer with AC21 who does not have insurance, so bought individual insurance. Until now I have not realized that being in a group insurance is such a great benefit. But I am exploring options and I expect some thing will come out.
I am not yet under panic mode and have so many good frineds at IV. That is a great moral support, at least I believe.

A colleague/friend of mine and his wife decided to have a home delivery. So, they contacted this nurse practitioner/midwife, who used to come to his home once a month and do all the stuff that goes along with pregnancy. They also delivered the baby at his home, which took off all the expense that are associated with a hospital delivery and I'm pretty sure the entire cost for the 9 month term was <5K (actually around 2-3K).
But I believe that was possible because it was a normal delivery with no complications.
So, if you and your wife are in the same situation as most of the people here (i.e. late 20's or early to mid 30's ) there is no reason why you would not have a normal uncomplicated delivery. So having a home delivery is an option.
I am a father of a 15 month old and felt that most of the months that we went to visit the doctor was pretty superficial. They did not tell us anything which you cannot find out from the internet or the maternity books. Who delivered my daughter in the hospital? Well a nurse did.
Also in India my wife told me that most often women don't go to the doctor unless there are issues. (For the period leading up to the delivery. For delivery they go to the doctor.)
So, for uncomplicated deliveries a home delivery could be an option, just check it out and the nurse practitioners (OBGYN variety)/midwives are fully qualified and sometimes more experienced than the doctors as that is ALL they do, they deliver babies.
So check this option if you feel it is OK.

I can guarantee that u r screwed for next 3+ years if it was EB2 and next 6+ years if it was EB3.

My PD is Aug 2005. My employer by mistake sent the 485 application on June 27 and USCIS received on June 28. Today Aug 21, I received the rejected 485 full package back. Employer is following up whether it can sent back. Anybody has any idea of any luck in this case, or has to wait till dates are current again?:mad:
